Similar AFD's

[edit]

I see you weighed in on Cain (DC Comics), since they are so similar I am just noting there is an AFD on on Abel (DC Comics) and Eve (DC Comics) as well. Jhenderson 777 02:47, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Source for Cain (DC Comics) that I let you add here. Jhenderson 777 03:05, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Cheers - I should give those a look too. Artw (talk)
Yeah I was going to add Lucien (DC Comics) too. But the AFD delayed it. Together they are the four originated horror hosts that were revived by Vertigo / Sandman etc. Jhenderson 777 03:38, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Actually adding content? Commendable these days. Artw (talk) 03:49, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what you mean. I talked about it with Rtkat3 and we seemed on board with it. Though we have a minefield of deletionists who don’t like various content when done not right and just perfect. Speaking of minefield, my bad on the rollback. My thumb clicked the wrong button when I wanted to preview. Jhenderson 777 04:04, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Digging up a source for thius might be fun if you do Lucien. [1] Artw (talk) 04:42, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Very resonable source for publication history. I will see what I can do with it sometime. Jhenderson 777 05:34, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit war warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.

Important Notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in gender-related disputes or controversies or in people associated with them. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Masters of the Universe

[edit]

I got tired of the vandalism and reported the Anon IP. As you also reverted him several times you might add a comment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Edit_warring -- 109.79.68.165 (talk) 12:40, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

[edit]

if the deletions here are based on the excuse you put forwards they are based on lies and invalid. If we assume good faith and TPM's fingers slipped and caused them to do a bunch of deletions out of incompetency then they are likewise invalid. - accusing other editors of being incompetent is unacceptable. Having disagreements with others does not mean you can call them incompetent. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 13:08, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, these are not "disagreements". TPH is engaged in a repeated and continued pattern of introducing untruths into deletion discussions, this is an established fact of the ANI concerning them, and as a result their competency to edit is fully a matter of discussion. Artw (talk) 13:47, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
"untruths", such as what, exactly? Nominating at AfD articles which fail WP:NOT or WP:V? That doesn't seem untrue to me. Accusing other editors of misbehaviour without evidence is similarly unacceptable. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 13:58, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Would suggest revisiting the ANI for examples of times this has not been the case. I absolutely would not take their word on an article failing a policy and neither should you, that is the problem. Artw (talk) 14:08, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I absolutely would not take their word on an article failing a policy Except, from looking at a few of the recent AfDs, they certainly seem correct about it, and your call to not WP:AGF seems unconvincing. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 14:12, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not from my direct experience. But sgain, there is an entire ANI on this subject, possibly you'd be better off discussing it there? Artw (talk) 14:19, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Hi. I noticed that your recent merges into Darkover series and Microsoft WebMatrix do not include attribution in their edit summaries as required by WP:Copying within Wikipedia#Proper attribution (guideline, shortcut WP:PATT). I see that you have been an editor for a long time, so I will not template you. The relevant warning template is {{Uw-copying}} if you would like to refer to it. Please let me know if you would like assistance with WP:Copying within Wikipedia#Repairing insufficient attribution (shortcut WP:RIA). Thanks. Flatscan (talk) 04:25, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, actually that’s the first time I’ve run into this, thanks for letting me know. I’ve reverted the webmatrix page for now - does an attribution issue remain? Artw (talk) 05:46, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your quick response! Your fix of Darkover series looks good. I personally like to use Special:PermanentLink and Special:Diff to be extra precise (example: Special:Diff/1082252851). The reverted content is still visible in Microsoft WebMatrix's history, so it technically needs attribution, but very few editors are sticklers about this case. Would you like me to add {{Copied}} templates to the talk pages? Flatscan (talk) 04:46, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]

Hi @Artw, just wanted to bring your attention to this ongoing discussion: User_talk:PhotographyEdits#Proposed_deletion_of_The_worst_person_you_know. I think the article should be kept, so I hope it does not have to go through AfD. If you'd like to voice your opinion, you can do it there already. Small world

[edit]

Thanks for the assist at Crawford's Biscuits. They started in Edinburgh's port of Leith and, as it happens, I just attended a virtual event based in Edinburgh. A new editor, Tenniswood, attended this training event and astounded us by saying that she was in Seattle where it was 5 am local time. As you're based in Seattle too, please advise her of any Wiki events in your locality so that she doesn't need to get up so early! Andrew🐉(talk) 16:56, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not really active in anything like that but will bear it in mind! Artw (talk) 17:07, 24 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
