Only some of Polish politicians are against the constitution (mostly from right wing parties). Opinion pools are in favor of Constitution.

Results:

YES: 56%

Polish people are choosing YES because:

  • 47% they are supporting for Polish membership in EU
  • 23% they are afraid that NO can cause negative consequences for Poland
  • 12% they think that the treaty can improve functioning of EU,
  • 15% they think that the constitution give Poland advantages in EU

NO:15%

Polish people are choosing NO because:

  • 44% they think that the constitution give Poland disadvantages in EU
  • 25% they think that the constitution is without strong link to traditional Christian values (Good, traditional, family,...)
  • 14% they aren't content with Polish membership in EU
  • 13% they don't accept proposed model of European integration.

UNDECIDED: 29%

Only 13% of Poles think, that they have enough knowledge about treaty to made proper decision during referendum, 78% think, that their knowledge isn't enough.

Economy in Poland is growing and thousands of Polish workers can find new jobs in old EU members. In many town money from EU is used to improve infrastructure. The majority (77%) of Poles are content with European integration.

Pools are made at 1-2, 9-10 of April 2005. The number of asked people was 1100.
