Hello Sooty,

Welcome to Wikipedia!

Nice work on primary visual cortex, nice to see it grow so much so quickly!

I hope you enjoy it here. T 11:20, 11 Jun 2004 (UTC)

I've done a few Google searches and can not verify your assertions about the Tibetan Macaque's ejaculatory prowess. Please enlighten me. - UtherSRG 22:29, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)

And was that a scientific book, or something other? - UtherSRG 19:55, 3 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Sounds fascinating. I'll have to pick up a copy. Since the story sounds a bit fantastical and sensationalistic, I'm wary of it. It's good to post in the talk where you get some outrageous piece of data so that folks can verify it. The one thing I know about Tibetans is that they are very gregarious, often accosting people on their way to temple, bribing them to let them pass. I'll be working to add your info and this into the article. I'd love to see more macaque articles created and fleshed out.
I just picked up "Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity" by Bruce Bagemihl (ISBN 1-8197-82-6) and it's got a good section on several macaque species (Japanese, Rhesus, Stumptail, Bonnet, Crab-eating, Pig-tailed and Crested Black) as well as many other primate, other mammals, and birds. I plan to add data or create articles from the book's info.
As for conflict resolution, as long as we're all being good-natured and patient, it's handled on an ad hoc basis. There are some more serious methods for dealing with conflicts, each more formal than the previous, for when participants are no longer being good-natured or patient with each other.
One more thing to note. There are some standards for species articles you may want to look over. They are regulated by various WikiProjects: WikiProject Tree of Life is the over-arching WikiProject for species and the tree that connects them, while WikiProject Primates, WikiProject Cetaceans, etc, deal with organizing various limbs of the Tree. Looking over these Project pages may help you in writing future articles.
Anywa, thanks for hanging on! - UtherSRG 01:25, 4 Jul 2004 (UTC)
