Do we like this photo? I thought the photo should show a bit more of the stadium than just the field, so I've put up a panoramic shot from the 2003 Duke at Virginia game. The thumbnail is a bit small, but I love the picture itself. Comments? --ElmoHoo 08:24, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Definitely too small... you can replace it but at least make it a nicer image. The pic doesn't *have* to have the Cavalier Marching Band in it as far as I am concerned, but at least make it a respectable image that readers can easily tell what it is. Never let your agenda get obstruct the user experience.  ;)
Do you have any pics (sans band, I'm sure) that are large enough to replace it? Please note that it should show the Orange that the students are wearing because it is pointed out in the article with reference to the visual aid of the photograph.

Give me a break! I replaced a picture of the marching band with a picture of the ENTIRE stadium. The panorama of the whole stadium is visually stunning, and the fact that the thumbnail is small is a small price to pay. Also, how can I help it if the students aren't wearing orange. That's a VERY new development, and even now isn't that consistant.

But heck, in the spirit of cooperation, I'll put up a larger picture of the stadium and move my panaramic shot to the bottom. --ElmoHoo 02:16, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It isn't a "picture of the band". It's also a picture of the entire crowd on the student side of the stadium, and if you don't have another photo that demonstrates the Orange phenomenon that is referenced in the article, please do not replace my image. Just because it isn't a long-standing tradition doesn't make it less important. It IS quite consistant in the student section though (maybe 75% orange compared to 10% a few years ago), and that's exactly what the existing photograph here demonstrates very well.

I doubt Uris will like this photo, because he didn't take it, but I'll try anyway. This is a great photo for showing the architectural elements of the stadium.--ElmoHoo 02:38, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

There is no reason to remove the photo demonstrating the "Orange Fever" phenomenon talked about in the article, is there? Other than you don't like the new band? That's not a very good reason. But, I do like the one you replaced it with. Any way to show both? Or maybe the orange students cut out with no band? Uris 02:54, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Wow, I made exactly the same edit, right after you did. I like this. I think I'll center it, though. --ElmoHoo 02:49, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

It definitely looks better centered... and large! I hope it's not too large for small resolutions... I'm stuck to 1280x1024 for the most part. Uris 02:54, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Looks OK on my laptop, and I doubt anyone will be using resolution smaller than that. Try making the picture on the right a bit smaller...--ElmoHoo 03:02, 1 Apr 2005 (UTC)

OK, I made the right pic slightly smaller (375px instead of 400px) and it's your Dave Matthews pic instead of the original now too. I made the Orange Fever pic very small but you can still clearly see the orange (but not necessarily the band) at 1280x1024. The panorama looks great at that size. The two new pics look great, I think others will agree you did a nice job coming up with them for this page. Definitely an improvement over what it looked like previously, IMHO. Fixed, data exists here. Though it could use an update, it only goes up to 2012. Rusalkii (talk) 02:42, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like they haven't had over 60,000 since 2013, so the records stand. Rusalkii (talk) 02:45, 1 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
