FEAF as functional equivalent of USSTAF

[edit]

I have just deleted a statement that Far East Air Forces (FEAF) was the functional equivalent of United States Strategic Air Forces (USSTAF). FEAF controlled tactical air forces, not strategic air forces. A functional equivalent was established at the end of the war on Okinawa to control the strategic air forces in the Pacific, Twentieth Air Force and Eighth Air Force. Neither of these Pacific commands, however, had the equivalent administrative control only over air forces in a geographic area that USSTAF did over units in the UK. --Lineagegeek (talk) 13:38, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
