Hevelius
[edit]Brady Haran's video [1], mentions (presumably on the authority of Merrifield) that the pair catalogued by Hevelius was the significantly brighter and wider pair 74 and 75 UMa, somewhat to the NE. Is there a source for this? (Merrifield also argues against classifying M40 as a "mistake", saying that reporting failure to locate a previously cited object (in this case, nebulosity around a double star) is also an important aspect of science.) -- Elphion (talk) 14:14, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
