Interviewing technique

[edit]

No mention is made of the fact that Tim Sebastian is Jewish - and that his interviewing technique of Israeli interviewees is remarkably different to that meted out to Palestinians (NB Saeb Erekat) - related to Jeremy Paxman, by any chance...?? And, yes, it`s a very fair comment to make.--201.231.122.212 07:19, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The final paragraph includes claims that are not supported with evidence. Evidence of these claims with citations should be added to the entry or the claims should be deleted. The claims are that:

- Sebastian specializes in setting traps for his interviewees.

- His style of conducting an interview is controversial

- ... insisting on simple answers to complicated questions and of calling people to account for not having gotten enough done in what has been, realistically, an impossibly short time frame to do so. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.238.228.247 (talk) 14:16, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was disgusted by the sycophancy of this article in regard to Sebastian as interviewer and have thus rephrased the para on his time at Hard Talk to attain objectivity. Sebastian attacked and browbeat enemies of the British state such as Gerry Adams in the way described by Unsigned above and slavered over eg Robert Gates. Hence the Anglosphere hype over him being some sort of impartial tough interviewer is utterly risible. Sebastian has continued his bias by attacking eg Norman Finkelstein during the Doha debate while giving the Israel lobby`s Aronovitch and Indyk the easiest of rides Jacques Roux (talk) 20:18, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Spy Career

[edit]

It is strange that there's nowhere to be found the history how Tim Sebastian left BBC. As a (anecdotal) witness, I remember that BBC said that Tim turned out to be an agent of I don't know MI5, MI6, so he had to leave. Now it seems like this information has just disappeared. But some must still remember, no?

Dual citizenship?

[edit]

In a radio program here in Germany I heard a speaker saying that Tim Sebastian has not only a British citizenship but also an Israeli citizenship, is that true? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:F5:CBC1:487B:B0B1:5327:583D:87B9 (talk) 04:40, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
