Directory suggestion

[edit]

It looks like you only have top ranking directories listed here. I would like to recommend a specialized directory that promotes green and renewable energy websites. There are over 1,400 quality sites listed in over 140 categories. They also review top sites on the main page. All directory services are provided free of charge.

Defunct directories on the list

[edit]

Aboutus.org mentioned on the list of web directories is no longer a directory.

Why is www.ansearch.com listed here? Compare its list of newspapers http://www.ansearch.com/Media/Newspapers with the list of newspapers on http://www.findouter.com/NorthAmerica/USA/News-and-Media/Newspapers

The latter list is clearly ranked according to importance besides having addresses and phone numbers.

Or compare http://www.joeant.com/DIR/cat/1259/Hospitals with http://www.findouter.com/NorthAmerica/USA/Health/Hospitals

Surprised you haven't yet listed this directory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Newbie765 (talkcontribs) 03:37, 2 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This entire article is a joke. There's the defunct pages listed noted above; the ridiculous criterion that there has to be a Wikipedia article about the directories listed; the fact that most of these sites have a small number of links, and are clearly attempts to make money. Absolutely pathetic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.252.55 (talk) 14:26, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you find flaws in the list, feel free to improve it. However, this article is not intended to help advertise your site. Please respect the community consensus and stop adding external links here. - Eureka Lott 03:03, 6 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Starting Point

[edit]

Starting Point, stpt.com, is a search engine, not a web directory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.15.69.83 (talk) 20:21, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Starting Point Directory says it is both. Richard-of-Earth (talk) 05:37, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
