What happened to the spelling rule "I before E except after C" we learned in grammar school? Is the name of the game spelled that way deliberately? If yes, perhaps adding Theif (sic) will clarify the issue.

I know nothing about Thief, or Theif. The following is the article that appeared on Theif. If the game is called "Thief," as I suspect, the article should probably live at Thief game or Thief--game (I'd prefer the latter). I've moved the article to this page because I doubt there are many people who are going to be willing to research and rewrite it. As it is, it's a bit embarrassing. --LMS

Theif Series (ACTION RPG)

The theif series is an Incredible series of 2 games (soon to be three) where you play the role of GARRET.

Garret started life as a petty theif who during the course of his childish pickpockiting, ran across an expert theif. He was caught and taken to a "theives guild" where he learned the way of theivary and shadows (which is how you start the game by the way...in training)

Soon Garret begins on a mission, which takes MANY turns from Theif 1 to Theif 2.

The main concept behind Theif was a GENRE breaking concept, the gameplay was like no other ever conceived before it. Everyone plays first person games with the idea of killing enemy after enemy in an almost RAMBO'ish' style until the game is inevitably beaten. But Theif takes a different approach, the main concept of the game was NOT to fight, and not to kill, Garret (ie: the player) was to manipulate shadows and watch the amount of sound he is making as NOT to take on the enemies.

So in essence this was the FIRST and in my humble opinion BEST FIRST PERSON SNEAKER

I've created Thief video game and cleaned up the spelling, and (I hope) made it wiki-acceptable :-). I'll link to it from the appropriate places, and recommend that "Theif" page be removed. -- NickelKnowledge
