[edit]how does metaphase done
is this really a stub? --Herzog 04:42, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
- I don't think it is. Melchoir 08:38, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. – ClockworkSoul 16:14, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- It needs references and expansion on metaphase during meiosis and during closed mitosis (spindle forms inside the nucleus). Another useful addition may be a section on metaphase "arrest" by microtubule-affecting drugs (e.g. colchicine and colcemid) and their uses in cell biology (e.g. cell cycle synchronization), cytogenetics (e.g. karyotyping) and beyond (e.g. chemotherapy and plant breeding). - tameeria 21:33, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I strongly agree that this article needs substantially more citations in order to be deemed reliable. Universities are increasingly denying use of Wikipedia due to its "unreliability," a decision which I disagree with, but it is precisely because of articles like these - while well written, they lack citations!--Jackson Peebles (talk) 02:00, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
Picture
[edit]May be another picture would be better as the one displayed seems to be a prometaphase: there is a chromosome with an unaligned kinetochore close to the spindle pole at the bottom right of the picture. The one/ a similar used for the kinetochore page would be in my opinion better. May be also show what happens in yeast as it is quite differentWikivax0 21:19, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
The picture is a 'chromosome spread

Changed rating to "high" as this is high school/SAT biology content, part of mitosis and meiosis. - tameeria 21:34, 18 February 2007 (UTC) |
