Move this article?

[edit]

Given this hasn't been called Film '72 for a long time, and nobody knows it as that now, a move to Film 2005 might be in order. Of course, that would mean it had to be moved every year - not a major problem, but perhaps Film (television series)? sjorford:// 22:20, 29 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Either approach sounds reasonable; I agree Film '72 is probably not the best title, I only used it as the existing link at Barry Norman linked to Film '72, and that's the name it's under at IMDB... If it's moved yearly, does MediaWiki have any problems/performance issues when it gets to n redirects? --hooverbag 13:55, 2005 Jan 30 (UTC)
IMDB is wrong. This programme was called "Film Night" before they reduced it to "Film '72" et al. Whoever thought it was called "The Film Programme" either has a short memory, or is not old enough to remember. I vote this page should be moved to "Film Night". First you would need proof that it was ever called "Film Night". When you have a source to cite, update the article accordingly. Then one can discuss moving the page, though I would still oppose such a move. jnestorius(talk) 00:06, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This needs renaming. Call it the bbc "film" programme. with redirects — Preceding unsigned comment added by Japanscot (talkcontribs) 11:34, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stop moving this article every year: This article does not need to be moved for every year. The Film programme is likely the WP:Common name of this article and therefore this article should stay at that title. Whatever year name the topic has can be redirected to this article and bolded in the lead, per WP:Alternative title. Flyer22 (talk) 18:51, 30 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Kermode

[edit]

The apparent rumours that Mark Kermode will take over FIlm 2010 are still just that. He was interviewed on Front Row recently and denied that he'd been approached for the role, so I'm removing the claim that he's the front runner. Marthiemoo (talk) 15:03, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Film 82

[edit]

Just been looking at the archives of TV-Ark and came across a promo recorded from 2 August, 1982 showing Glyn Worsnip as the presenter for the new look Film 82, which was shown at 10.40pm on 3 August, 1982. Just thought it would be of interest to mention this, just incase you want to add more presenters of the 'Film' programme to the main page. onshore

Yup, my memory is that it was not just Ian Johnstone (who was very good) who got to try out on Film 82. If I am not greatly mistaken, I remember Tina Brown (of Tatler and Vanity Fair fame) doing a couple of shows. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Goldgreen (talkcontribs) 03:44, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Do we need a separate article?

[edit]

I had never even heard of a programme on television called "The Film Programme" - I typed "The Film Programme" in here, hoping to get to the Radio Four programme. This does have a tag at the top saying that this television programme is not to be confused with the Radio Four programme - perhaps we need a separate article on the latter.
