From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This topic could concievably take up thousands of words. I'm thinking that besides the skeletal intro, someone could expound on the different types of blending (simplex, mirror..) and also the different vital relations (Identity, Change, Web..). Some general examples like the Buddhist Monk riddle and also a specific example from each type of blending. The scope is vast. The definitive source is the book The Way We Think. Blend and discuss. -- Gyan 02:01, 21 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Posted on the Resources fork are a list of conceptual blending resources that I could find on the net. These include documents describing blending, discussing blending, applying blending and various miscellanea. Some of the documents can't be pigeonholed into a single category. Often a researcher will give an overview of blending before delving into the specific application, but since the focus is the application, that's how I've categorized it. Please feel free to add your own. Thanks -- Gyan 20:59, 7 May 2004 (UTC)-[reply]

This is a treasure trove of resources that are not covered whatsoever in the article. Pity! Maybe we can start merging them in a bit. Arided (talk) 18:13, 29 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Newbie here. Why aren't these resources included in the main article?Ooker (talk) 07:24, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A quick Google search shows that at least part of this article is stolen content from another paper. I have contacted the authors requesting permission or a replacement. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Indolering (talkcontribs) 20:33, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Don't contact the authors! Delete on sight as per WP:COPYVIO. That is in accordance with Wikipedia's policies. Moreover, if you think established scholars are gonna let Wikipedia rip entire pages from their books, you are completely mistaken. Delete on sight! • Ling.Nut 08:38, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • See section immediately above this one. All edits by User:NIcolaspotorno appear to be almost entirely composed of WP:COPYVIO. I'm sure this was all done in WP:Good faith by an inexperienced editor, but we can't let such copyvio stand... I looked at the page hist, and no edits since NIcolaspotorno's appear to add substantive content. I'm reverting back to 12 May 2009. • Ling.Nut 09:00, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article is off to a good start, but needs improvement before being considered a solid trustworthy article. First, the article needs more research, more citations, and more figures and charts. Additional examples would help explain conceptual blending. The possible copyright infringement needs to be fixed as soon as possible to prevent questioning the legitimacy of your article. I also think more variety in your research would greatly improve the information you are trying to present. (BEL46855 (talk) 05:30, 11 September 2012 (UTC))[reply]
