ME, Newman? Oh no, it wasn't me. Not me at all . . . Setokaiba 18:08, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't revert any vandalism on this page - you just blanked it. It was Chappers, however, who has been responsible for all the vandalism on your user page. Good luck in trying to stop him Newman! cap601 18:21, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Do not worry I will, especially when its from HABS as it could constitute a level 3 sanction. Newmhost 12:53, May 22, 2005 (UTC)

Ian StJohn

[edit]

Oops, that message on my talk page had slipped my mind. I'm intrigued by the Amazon listing: you're right, they've corrected their error. But why isn't his name on the front cover? And Amazon are not the only people who make this mistake, I checked a couple of other online bookstores and they do too. I wonder what his involvement with the book was? -Splash 17:46, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well I know the amazon.co.uk site has has his name listed as a co-author for some time now. As to why he is not listed on the cover, I am not sure, but I will be contacting the publisher. It may just be a statement of modesty, or a complex reason.

Having checked the copy of "Kinnock" in the school library, I have at least confirmed the presence of Ian St John's name on the title page. Setokaiba 19:19, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In light of this info, which I would encourage to most on the main page of the VfD, I will contact the other participants in the VfD to let them know about new information, since many of them based their vote on mine. -Splash 21:44, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The page has been deleted, Newman. Better file an undelete request if you want it restored. Setokaiba 19:09, 23 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I may do , but not just yet Newmhost 15:58, July 24, 2005 (UTC)

I should just like to establish my deep and sincere sorrow for what has happened. "accipe fraterno multum manantia fletu / atque in perpetuum, frater, ave atque vale." Moreover, I shall have fun telling the great man himself that he was taken off wikipedia due to being unimportant. Danny

Still advertising, eh Newman? Setokaiba 15:29, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reminder...

[edit]

When using template tags on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:test}} instead of {{test}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template.

This is regarding User talk:Jonathan Seiner. If you would specify which page {{userfy warning}} referred to, that'd be great. — Ian Manka Talk to me‼ 23:05, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Top Gear

[edit]

See Top Gear tonight, Newman? Funniest. Episode. Ever. Wonder if I should buy a Hilux? Setokaiba 20:11, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, it was an excellent show! Had me in hysterics! Newmhost 18:39, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Newmhost,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.

Best regards, SteviethemanDelivered: 01:12, 8 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
