This page is absurdly biased. It makes no mention of Vaudreuil's corruption, his administrative incompetance, or military meddling.

Are you sure you are not mixing him up with the intendant Bigot? -- Mathieugp 23:12, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)

A few problems came up during merging these articles:

  • Was he born in Montreal or Quebec City?
  • Did he die on October 20, 1765 or August 4, 1778?
  • Is his name de Cavagnal or de Rigaud or both? Rmhermen 16:11, Sep 27, 2004 (UTC)

I looked up three different sources. (see below)

  • The sources I looked up all indicated Quebec City. Not sure where the reference to Montreal comes from. Maybe worth looking.
  • The same sources indicate August 4, 1778, in Paris.
  • The same sources indicate both names.

In the Historica Canadian Encyclopedia:

"Vaudreuil, Pierre de Rigaud de Vaudreuil de Cavagnial, Marquis de (sometimes Vaudreuil-Cavagnial), officer, last governor general of New France 1755-60 (b at Québec C 22 Nov 1698; d at Paris, France 4 Aug 1778), son of Philippe de Rigaud de VAUDREUIL"

In his biography at CyberAcadie:

In the Dictionnaire général du Canada of Louis Le Jeune:
