Relationship of Native American articles

[edit]

My attempt to disambiguate the various terms as applied to Native American peoples and languages is based on comments made on Talk:Algonquian and on User talk:QuartierLatin1968. I'm not sure that I got it right. JamesMLane 13:12, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Another possibility that might help readers understand these relationships would be to make Algonquin the disambiguation page, and move the current contents of Algonquin to a new Algonquin (tribe). That way, someone who enters just "Algonquin" would come immediately to the disambiguation page, for help in picking the article(s) he or she really wants to read. JamesMLane 13:18, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Looks right to me, as far as I know. - Mustafaa 14:22, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)
JML, your arrangement's technically perfect, I'd say. I'm just going to switch around Algonquian languages and Algonquian peoples -- it's not whether a people is Algonquian that determines their language; it's the language that defines whether a people is Algonquian. Otherwise, this looks great. QuartierLatin1968 21:25, 4 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Earth Age

[edit]

Wasn't the "Algonkian" a geological period on the scale of the Earth's ages? --BjKa (talk) 12:01, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
