Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Afsharid dynasty, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text borrowed from web sites. For more information, take a look at our policy library. Happy editing! FreplySpang (talk) 02:54, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pedram, thanks again for your interest in Wikipedia! Unfortunately, the text that you have added to Afsharid dynasty appears to be copied from another website, linked here: [1] . It says that it is "Copyright © 1997, 2000, 2002 by J.N.W. Bos. All rights reserved." Wikipedia does not permit articles that include copyrighted text outside of brief quotes. It is a violation of copyright law for us to include copyrighted text without permission, and it could get us into a lot of trouble, so we do our best to keep it out of Wikipedia.

I have removed the copyrighted text from Afsharid dynasty; please do not put it back. If you want to summarize it in your own words, that would be great. Once more, thanks for your interest and your contributions! FreplySpang (talk) 15:02, 16 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Salam

[edit]

Thanx for your message.

I was away at a conference for a few days.

And I am currently busy trying to prevent Zora from changing history on our Ahvaz and Khuzestan pages. She is desperately and maliciously trying to claim that Ahvaz originally is an Arabic name and hence belongs to the Arabs.

I'll help you out in the first opportunity I get. But we could use your help there oin the Ahvaz or Khuzestan pages as well. Even just a sentence of support.--Zereshk 02:22, 17 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

List of Iranian scientists thoroughly expanded

[edit]

I just thoroughly expanded the List of Iranian scientists by adding 20 or so more biographies which I have been writing over the past week. The list is almost complete.--Zereshk 08:58, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Two Articles in need of your attention

[edit]

There are two entries at Wikipedia, which have falsely created -- they are Turco-Persian and Turko-Persian Tradition. Both entries are factitious. I have requested the entries to be deleted. My reasons are:

The term Turko-Persian Tradition (or Turco-Persian) does not exists academically and it is a factitious entry! Check the Encyclopaedia Iranica to confirm -- The correct name for that culture is the Persianate culture not the "Turko-Persian". Turkophones (mostly of mixed race and Persianized in culture) only spoke in Turkic dialects and were in the military. That is not enough participation in creating and forming the culture to deserve the name "Turko-Persian Tradition" – This is misinformation. All the elements in that area, which have to do with tradition and culture, were drawn from the Iranian culture (Persian, Kurdish, Azari, Baluchi, Tajik, Luri, Gilaki, Talishi, Mazandarani, etc.), and the Islamic faith, not much Turkic elements (like shamanism, yurts etc.) were incorporated in. That is what makes the name "Turko-Persian" an imaginary one and therefore the entry should be deleted.

Any contributions would greatly appreciated. Bā Sepās Surena 02:27, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shiraz GAC

[edit]

I recently nominated Shiraz to be reviewed for the good article criterea, but it was refused because of lack of citation. I added some refferences and now I ask you to unofficially review it before I renominate it. If you see any problem with it please tell nme on my talk page or fix it yourself.Thankyou for your time.Manu kian maheri93 12:07, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has asked for a deletion review of Ahwaz territory. There are question about the truthfulness of the article and whether such a territory exists. Since you contributed to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Iran, I am hoping that you would consider participating in the Ahwaz territory deletion review to shed some light on whether the Ahwaz territory in fact exists. Thanks. -- Jreferee t/c 17:50, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:29, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on RMF Design and Manufacturing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
