Tests for a potential CVG series infobox or overview section. Styling should be discarded as wikicode for tables isn't exactly my strong.

using the CVG infobox as a basis for a new one

FIFA Series

FIFA International Soccer (Mega Drive, 1993)

Genre: Sports (Football)
Publisher(s): EA, under EA Sports label
Developer(s): several
Releases between: 1993 - present (yearly)
Number of games: 12
Platforms: non-exclusive, major platforms
Spin offs: Stars, FIFA Street, Euro 2000 and 2004, World Cup 98 and 2002
Main competitors: Actua Soccer, Pro Evolution Soccer

A new infobox, similar to {{Template:Infobox CVG}}, suggested by WolfenSilva:

  • + Better for series that remained unchanged through the years
  • + Provide a fast overview
  • + Suitable for games with frequent releases ...
  • - ... and unsuitable for spaced releases.
  • - over two changes in developer, publisher or genre ruin the whole layout completely
  • - Extended fields (such as the number of spinoff titles) might as well disrupt the table

Table

[edit]

using {{template:prettytable}}, as suggested by K1Bond007:

Box Title Year Platforms
[[Image:Microsoft age of empires.png 50px]] Age of Empires 1997 PC-Windows
Pocket PC
[[Image:Microsoft age of empires - expansion.png 50px]] Age of Empires: The Rise of Rome Expansion 1998 PC-Windows
[[Image:Microsoft age of kings.png 50px]] Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings 1999 PC-Windows
PlayStation 2
[[Image:Microsoft age of kings - expansion.png 50px]] Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion 2000 PC-Windows
no pic Age of Empires III tbr
(2005)
PC-Windows
  • + Better organized
  • + favours games with individual articles
  • + flexible template already exists
  • - unsuitable for long series (over 8 games)
  • - only a games list, no overview
