- If you leave me a message here, I will respond to it here, as fragmented discussions are confusing. I may or may not leave you a notice that I've responded on your talk page. If you specifically request that I do (or do not) give you such a notice when I respond, I'll honor that request. If I contact you on your talk page, I will watchlist it so that I can respond there. If you'd like to leave me a notice when you respond (a ping will also suffice), it would be appreciated, and you'll probably receive a faster followup.
- No lulztxtspk or emojis on my talk page, please. "You" is spelled "you", "though" is spelled "though", "because" is spelled "because", "people" is spelled "people", and so on. There is no character limit on Wikipedia comments, so there is no need whatsoever for ad-hoc abbreviating. If you don't even take yourself seriously, don't expect me to take you seriously either.
- If you are an admin here to ask me about someone I blocked for vandalism or spamming/advertising, they've agreed to stop it, and you believe they intend to edit productively, go ahead and unblock them. Prior to taking any of the actions of moving, merging and redirecting, or blanking and redirecting the article, consensus must be established for such an action.

Brownstones Coffee speedy deletion
[edit]Hello Seraphimblade, just wanted to get your thinking regarding what just happened with the above article. It came up on my New York-related AfD list, so I was quite curious to look into it. At first glance, it seemed like a horrendous and obvious attempt at promotion—but then again I have enough experience to not be impressed by a first impression. Indeed, I immediately began to find rather in-depth coverage; as you may know, Newsday is the major newspaper on Long Island (I remember a time when it was marketed heavily in New York City and elsewhere, and maybe still is). When I came back after a break, I saw that you speedied it. I didn't get the chance to dig any deeper, and obviously I now feel deterred from doing so. I was wondering if you noticed my quick initial attempt to bring the article up to snuff. Now, I noticed from the deletion log that the article was created years ago and discarded then for promotion, so I was wondering if that fact had any bearing on your current decision, and I'm also wondering how an article that was nominated for the normal deletion process can suddenly be removed from the queue like that without any further consideration. - StonyBrook, the current version of the article was totally promotional, so it was eligible for G11. That said, if you think you have found enough source material about the subject to demonstrate notability, and can write a neutral article about the subject based on those sources, the fact that it was speedied does not in any way prohibit you from doing that.
