Israeli Socialist Organization

The Israeli Socialist Organization (Hebrew: הארגון הסוציאליסטי בישראל) was an Israeli radical leftist group that was active during the 1960s and 1970s. The group is more commonly known by the name of Matzpen (Hebrew: מצפן, meaning "compass"), which was the name of the Hebrew-language magazine they published.

Although numbering only a few dozens of activists, the group had a noted impact on Israeli politics and gained much attention. Being a group of Israelis, struggling against Zionism and the Israeli control of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, was an early fracture in the Zionist concensus in Israel.
