This article is so good in its current state that it really shouldn't be NPOVed ;) -- Fredrik | talk 20:57, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)

Wierd - I think the history just completely deleted a revision... Evercat 21:03, 2 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I added info about domains, and a few other minor additions. security 13:57, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Who put "QWERTZ"

[edit]

The first line shows both "QWERTY" and "QWERTZ". Was that a mistake, or on purpose? I don't want to edit it if I'm missing something.

The QWERTZ keyboard is used in Germany, and simply swaps the Y and Z keys, see QWERTY for more information. – ABCD 18:31, 22 Jan 2005 (UTC)
It seems like there might be value in adding an automagically included FAQ section to talk pages to the MediaWiki software. Something to let things that arise and resolve quickly live alongside discussions instead of falling off the edge of the wiki over time. An "OK, question's answered. Let's save the later souls from needing to ask it and answer it again" kinda thing. They're doing it, manually I think, on the phrasing for the homepage tag line, after a fashion. Each wordbit is broken out and access to the main discourse on them presented. Seems like that kinda thing could live happily in the gutter of each article/discussion, or perhaps better said seems like making it easy for that kinda thing to gather itseslf might be worthwhile. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.6.22.123 (talkcontribs) 01:28, 30 January 2005 (UTC2)

Second graf

[edit]

This strikes me as a by-sysadmin-for-sysadmin--doesn't-belong-as-is-here bit: "It is a general practice for system administrators to run a password check on their users, if it is possible, for any users that use personal passwords. It is a very good idea to at least run a password check (to make sure they aren't easily cracked) for any user who has access to critical systems or has special admin privileges."

Even if that information deserves specific note on this page, that bit, that amount of space taken that prominently? Shorten to a couple of words that can be included in a sentence that does fit there and make those words a link to either a different page or more likely to somewhere further down the page?

Has this been VFD'd yet?

www.asdf.com has been added again to the external links. I am going to remove it again. — Tobias Bergemann 08:26, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why remove it? It shows asdf's recognization by the internet. It wouldn't hurt the article would it? -- Hunt 4 Orange November 15:15, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe not. I've visited that site before (I think by randomly typing in asdf). This could just be knee-jerk reaction to the staff adding it. Superm401 - Talk 02:15, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I just reverted some more irrelevant garbage referring to asdf.com ""asdf" is also said to like "jkl;"." wtf is that supposed to mean? Wikipedia is not a trivia site. Whitehatnetizen 03:35, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not to say that this article is significant enough to bother editing, but I just visited asdf.com and it has ~10 stupid things to say ("asdf is the name of a zine that hasn't been written yet"). Maybe we could delete this reference and replace it with "asdf are the random letters that you type when you want to quickly get past the start screen so that you can click on 'random article'". Scrabble ref?

[edit]

"'asdf' is worth 8 points in Scrabble." Pfft. 'asdf' is not in the Scrabble dictionary as of 4th edition (TWL06, USA dictionary). Plus, something so trivial shouldn't even be added. At all. I deleted it. 68.231.62.45 18:31, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why redirected from MBM5?

[edit]

I'm just curios as to why MBM5 redirects here

Was looking for an article on Motherboard Monitor 5

"SOMETIMES WHEN YOU POOP IN A BLENDER AND MIX IT WITH ICE CREAM IT SMELLS LIKE BLACK PEOPLE SWEATING ON A HOT SUMMER DAY....BALLS."

Is this supposed to be there? Or is it vandalism. I would be happy to delete it, but I am not sure if it is vandalism. Orthodoxy 17:06, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do you really need to ask? I mean, assuming good faith is one thing but I think this is pretty obviously vandalism. In the future be bold - if you're mistaken it can always be corrected. --Darksun 10:04, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Normally you can safely assume that an addition to an article is vandalism when it is in capital letters, mentions poop, and/or includes the word "balls". Like Darksun said, be bold. People can always undo your reversions if you turn out to be wrong (and in some cases, even if you are right). --LuigiManiac 13:19, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Did we ever find out if this was vandalism or not? jp×g 00:21, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
