Good article. Actually however this wasn't the second (technically the fifth), considering the Popham Colony was founded in the same year as the Jamestown Settlement, and of course both come after two attempts to settle at Roanoke Island. One could argue that it was the second "permanent" settlement, but its later abandonment makes that claim hazy. I think there is a right way of putting this, but right it seemes incorrect as stated. -- Decumanus 22:27, 11 Mar 2004 (UTC)

I recently moved this to "Cuper's Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador" without much thought as I believed it was describing a community (history, geography, etc.). Since it predates Newfoundland and Labrador as a political entity, should it be moved back to its original name "Cuper's Cove" and not be categorized under NL communities?
